WeTransfer: Futureproof Yourself

Who and what will I be in 10 years’ time?
People are always trying to look into the future, wondering how life would be like.

As Winston Churchill once said, “It is always wise to look ahead, but difficult to look further than you can see.” Sure enough, the only thing we can see is in the NOW, but what if you could foretell your future?

We’ve sought methods of looking into the future which include tarot card reading, palm reading, seeking a mystic who looks through a crystal ball, and also face reading.
Our idea is simple - with the help of the webcam function on computers, we’ve decided to take advantage of the waiting time needed for a file to be transferred, to give the user a ‘fortune reading’ through a ‘face-reading’ for his/her future.

How does it work? The user would click the ‘Click to Begin’ button to start. Next, the user would be prompted to allow his/her webcam to be accessed to allow the program to ‘scan’ his/her face.

The scanned face transformed into an illustration which would give them a fortune reading based on the users’ facial features.
The fortune reading serves as a guide for the user, in relation to the path he/she might want to consider taking, that would be beneficial to them.

Users of WeTransfer can also share their fortune reading through Facebook to allow their friends to have a look at it, and this would also serve to drive traffic to WeTransfer to check out the ‘fortune reading’ function.

With the readings, users get to ‘future-proof’ themselves. Like what Malcolm X said: “The future belongs to those who prepare for it today.”

So, while waiting for your files to be done, why not look into your future?
